Ridgeland-based Mississippi Building Blocks officials met with lawmakers, including Senator Derrick T. Simmons, seeking greater funding of early education.
Mississippi Building Blocks Executive Director April May (right) and Early Childhood Coordinator Kenecha Brooks-Smith (left) visited the Mississippi Capitol on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 to promote their organization’s mission of improving early childhood education efforts statewide. May and Brooks-Smith spoke with Senator Derrick T. Simmons about the Ridgeland-based organization’s’ efforts to see greater funding for education.
