Senator Derrick T. Simmons was lobbied on Thursday, January 22, 2015,  by Portia Weeks of the American Cancer Society, to support a bill introduced in the 2015 session that would ban the use of tanning devices by persons under 18-years-old. Weeks was among a large contingency of American Cancer Society personnel at the Capitol bending the ears of lawmakers.
