Derrick Simmons fights every day to make life easier for families in the Delta. He knows what it’s like when gas, food, and bills keep going up while paychecks don’t. In the Senate, he has worked to lower costs, bring good jobs to the Delta, and make sure every family has a fair shot.
As Senate Minority Leader, Derrick has pushed to expand healthcare and protect rural hospitals, secured millions for roads, bridges, and jobs, and fought for fully funding public schools so every child has the chance to succeed.
He has passed laws that give people second chances, led the fight to change the state flag, and stood up for civil rights to try and move Mississippi forward.
